Buying an anti virus program to protect it from malicious programs should be the first thing computer owners do. Even with exercising all caution, the chances of being struck by a virus or malware is still there. Contrary to popular belief that you only get a virus when you go to pornography or gaming sites, malicious programs and viruses are everywhere whether you are accessing those sites or not.

Viruses and malicious programs are often found online but there are some that attach themselves on removable storage like a USB flash disks, so even if you are not visiting a virus infested site or if you are not so much of an internet surfer, your computer is still in danger of contracting a virus simply by transferring a file from other sources. There are a lot of horror stories when it comes to computers getting infected with viruses and most of them are because the owner failed to buy proper anti virus for their computer.

Certainly recovery from infection isn't impossible, a format will do this nicely, but this does mean losing not only a lot of data, but also time and money spent trying to fix the problem.

You can say goodbye to your precious files like digital photos, music and others that have been stored in the computer. Loss of data of course is only one of the problems you'd encounter if you are lucky, with stolen credit card information or your personal information being among the other risks.

Simply because an antivirus wasn't installed from the beginning.

We often hear the adage that prevention is still the best cure. This holds true even with computers and we can avoid the impending doom when purchasing antivirus and regularly updating it. Why go through the problems associated with an anti virus attack? Be protected and buy anti virus right away!
